The Nike Metcon 7 is here.
The seventh and the newest iteration in the Metcon line is finally here! The line is known for its superior stability and durability for functional exercises. Metcon 7 is made sure to continue the legacy with some upgrades for movements focused on strength, speed, power, and endurance.
Here are some of the styles we are going to look at:
Nike Metcon 7 – Overview
The Nike Metcon line is a cross-training shoe that started in 2015 and has undergone several iterations to make sure there is a Metcon for every athlete. Every iteration has a significant growth according to athletes’ evaluation and experience with the shoes, as well as Nike’s desire to have variety.
A workout involves different movements, and the Metcon needs to handle various exercises like a heavy clean and jerk, rope climb, a 400-meter sprint, and handstand push-ups. For these reasons, Nike continues to modify and transform Metcon without sacrificing its original purpose.
Nike Metcon 7 Mat Fraser
The Nike Metcon 7 MF is Mat Fraser’s fourth Personal Edition release which comes in limited quantities. This version of Metcon is the gold standard for weight training worn by the “Fittest Man on Earth” and 5X CrossFit Games Champion, Mat Fraser. To give you a more rigid and more stable shoe, Nike added React foam to maximize your comfort and prepare you for high-intensity cardio. The shoe has a powerful grip from all angles with its revamped rubber that covers your arch for heightened grip during rope climbs.
The wide, flat heel is more stable with an inner plate that disseminates weight from side to side. It also bends to make your movements more satisfying for cardio intervals. The shoe has a lightweight mesh with textured overlays in high-wear points to help keep your foot cool without losing durability. The Tab restricts the laces with a hook-and-loop closure to avoid interference.
Nike Metcon 7 Flyease
With Nike Metcon 7 Flyease’s lightweight and active cushioning, you can be in your most comfortable even during workouts that consist of lifting, high-intensity intervals, sprints, and short runs. This shoe refines stability and durability to hold you up to the push and pull of severe strength training. It is made with FlyEase technology, and the shoe’s soft heel deflates when you step in then quickly returns into place to secure your foot.
The Nike foam offers a soft, cushioned base that feels lightweight and flexible when you hit it into high gear for sprints and cardio. The Handstand clip at the heel lessens drag during wall exercises, while the Flywire cables unite with the laces to protect your midfoot.
Nike Metcon 7
While Metcon 6 boasts of its breathability, the Nike Metcon 7 has React foam as its most significant feature. It is also tougher and more stable than its ancestors. It provides a comfortable, cushioned base that feels lightweight and springy so you can be ready for anything, especially for high-intensity cardio and runs. The shoe has a wide, flat heel that gets even more solid with an internal plate that spreads weight from edge to edge. It also contracts to make it easy for cardio intervals. The rubber is revised to wrap up your arch for exceptional grip during rope climbs, while the rubber tread gives you traction from the training room floor to the road.
The Flywire cables integrate with the laces to protect your midfoot as it also grooves in the sole, allowing your forefoot to bend easily. Metcon 7 has a Tab that locks down the laces with a hook-and-loop closure to avoid interfering. Its lightweight mesh with textured overlays in high-wear areas keeps your foot fresh without losing durability. It also has a Handstand clip at the heel to reduce drag during wall exercises. Metcon 7 is available for both men and women in different colorways.
