MudGear makes super-comfortable, high-performance socks for athletics. Let’s take a look.
MudGear builds fully functional performance gear and offers it to outdoor athletes beyond F3 like top athletes competing in OCR, trail running, and outdoor endurance events. They made a custom compression sock intended to drain water and provide protection on rope climbs and traverses. MudGear has been producing outdoor sports apparel for obstacle racers since 2012, making the best performing products on the market.
Here’s some of the styles we are going to look at:
Socks from MudGear – Overview
Regular socks are soft, while gym socks got soaked in the mud, and that sheer compression socks got shredded on ropes. And to win events like Tough Mudder, Spartan Race, BattleFrog, and Savage Race, a tougher compression sock is a must. They should be resilient enough to endure outdoor race situations and mighty enough to help protect racers from the wounds, rope burns, and other injuries prevalent in obstacle course racing. And for all these reasons, MudGear built a custom compression sock meant to drain water and protect against injuries.
MudGear did not settle for anything less and knew that the world’s toughest and best socks should be designed and made in the USA. They use American yarn blends known for their durability and comfort and arranged the socks to attain distinct performance results for their ventilation, moisture management, and abrasion resistance. MudGear socks stay put and make your legs feel great.
Ruck Sock
The MudGear Ruck Sock has a form-fitting construction of the foot arch between heel and toe areas which is one of its best advantages. It has a more comfortable fit with more stretch compared to the best options on the market. Because of its Nylon/Spandex blend, the sock is stable and reduces foot movement that leads to abrasion and sores. The mesh ventilation features on the top of the foot add temperature and moisture control, while the arch design features vertical channels for moisture movement.
The MudGear Ruck Sock is a tactical hiking boot sock using high-grade merino wool and polypropylene blend that is tough yet comfortable enough to prevent blisters. It uses four functional fibers to accomplish specific performance factors where they are needed most for fit and function. The footbed and heel pocket are the most critical areas for comfort, abrasion resistance, and moisture management, and these areas were given detailed attention. This sock has incredible toughness, durability, and the added perk of natural antimicrobial odor control.
No-Show Running Socks
The No-Show Running Sock renders Achilles security, then dips below the ankle for a fashionable line just above your shoe top. It has the same advanced design as the 1/4 Crew Trail Socks and is confirmed not to slip. The midfoot compression holds the arch and keeps this sock in place, while the light cushioning and a seamless toe prevent hot spots that cause blisters.
The No-Show Running Sock is MudGear’s toughest and most comfortable running sock using premium yarns and robust construction. This sock is built in an under ankle tab design that hugs the Achilles to keep dirt from the trail. To test this sock, the world’s top distance runners put them on to see how they stack up, and this sock crushed it.
Quarter Crew Sock
The 1/4 Crew Socks has a relatively high ankle snug enough to hinder dirt and rocks, although it’s not a tight compression fit. The footbed is light and cushioned but not massive in a way that will soak up and retain water or mud.
It uses American yarn blends for extraordinary comfort, moisture management, and abrasion resistance. It has excellent drainage for maintained comfort over unending miles. It is built tough to help protect from the course itself and has a medium compression to keep out dirt and debris.
Tall Compression Socks
The Tall Compression Sock is purposely over-built to satisfy the needs of obstacle course racers and outdo your expectations. It has a firm compression that assists performance and recovery, and it is made tough for serious competition.
This sock has protective backing for rope climbing and traverses and has superior drainage for long-distance courses. It is constructed with premium yarns with an excellent fit and feel.
