Let’s take a look at GR1 and GR2 with the new updated back panel now made from less abrasive 210D material.
GORUCK rucksacks are proven in the harshest environments and made to Army Special Forces standards. They are the best for everyday carry, rucking, and traveling, backed by the Scars Lifetime Guarantee. GR1 is the toughest rucksack ever made. It has a streamlined design using Special Forces quality materials, making it perfect for everyday carry (EDC) daypack. Whether you’re commuting to school, work, or the gym, GR1 has your back. GR2 is patterned after Special Forces medical rucks with plenty of compartments for organization. It is carry-on compliant, hands-free, and made for those who want to travel with only one bag.
Here are some of the styles we are going to look at:
GR1
Since 2020, GORUCK has been using 210D CORDURA® as a back panel for the Rucker. It can be worn with travel shirts or tank tops, but you can also wear them shirtless. With GR1, GORUCK updated the material used and is now utilizing the all-new 210D HT (High Tenacity) CORDURA® on the back panel and underside of the shoulder straps. It is made even more versatile and won’t irritate the skin or chew up apparel, no matter how you plan to use it. Proven to Special Forces standards, GR1 is synonymous with the best of American manufacturing.
The independent compartment next to your back is extra-reinforced to keep a laptop securely even in action. It opens flat to make packing, organizing, and finding things easier on the go—the same design as the Special Forces medical rucks. GR1 is made from 1000 Denier Cordura, the preferred material for all Special Forces Rucks because of its resistance to the severities of elements and activities. It has three interior pockets: one large elastic pocket, one large mesh zippered pocket, and one small go-to pocket.
GR1 has a removable, rigid plastic frame sheet that stabilizes the laptop compartment and allows you to carry more weight comfortably. The three rows of external and internal MOLLE webbing will enable you to customize your GR1, while the shoulder straps and top handle are extra padded to carry heavier loads more conveniently. GR1 is highly water-resistant and uses YKK zippers with a silent, glove-friendly zipper pull constructed from a parachute 550 cord. GR1 is available in 21L and 26L.
GR2
If there is only one rucksack you will bring to travel the world, GR2 is that one. It has lots of pockets, all the organization you need, and is carry-on compliant. You can travel hands-free and leave all the roll bags in the dust. GR2 is also updated using the all-new 210D HT (High Tenacity) CORDURA® on the back panel and underside of the shoulder straps.
It is larger than GR1, with 34L and 40L capacities and a two-compartment design for more storage and plenty of pockets for more organization. It has two large compartments for more organization. The inner compartment has three internal pockets: one large elastic pocket, one large mesh zippered pocket, and one small go-to zippered pocket. The outer compartment has four internal pockets: two large mesh zippered pockets, one small go-to zippered pocket, and one built-in field pocket.
Instead of three, GR2 has four rows of external and internal MOLLE webbing for customization. The bottom panel is made of 1050D Ballistic Nylon that is water and abrasion resistant and very durable. Like GR1, GR2 also opens flat based on Special Forces medical packs. GR2 is available in 26L, 34L, and 40L.
GR1 and GR2 – In Summary
That’s our close-up look at GR1 and GR2.
