An Open Trap Bar may look intimidating, but it is one of the easiest equipment to use in the gym. It is a versatile piece of equipment that allows you to do different kinds of exercises like Romanian deadlifts, neutral-grip presses (chest and overhead), push-ups, floor presses, farmer’s carries, bent-over rows, shrugs, planks, rack pulls, and more. It allows you to do pulls when you are rehabbing or have a reduced range of motion.

Open Trap Bar Handles
The Open Trap Bar has different handle sizes to accommodate different frames of lifters. Standard Handles work for all-sized lifters, while the Wide Handles provide a wider hand positioning for lifters with broader shoulders or who want more upper back and trap activation. The Narrow Handles are advised for lifters with smaller frames or who wish to lift using a narrower hand positioning.
The Rotating Handles have three handles of different diameters to help train grip strength. They offer 28mm, 38mm, and 48mm diameter handles and feature a hard-chrome finish. The handles are quick to remove and easy to switch out between sets. The rotation is the carousel-style frame that enables a swift and effortless switch between the handles.
Open Trap Bar
With the Open Trap Bar, you can set the weight straight in line with your center of gravity instead of in front like a conventional barbell. The neutral handle placement of this bar makes deadlifting less technique intensive, and its open design enables a versatile range of movements. This bar features an integrated deadlift jack that makes loading and unloading the bar more comfortable, with plastic liners on the feet to protect your floors. It weighs 58.4lbs (not including the handles) and features a round tube frame, so you can use it as a cambered bar for pressing and squatting.
It has a textured matte black powder coat for a sleek look and added level of grip. The REP Open Trap Bar highlights fully knurled, stainless-steel handles, except the Rotating Handles, which are steel with a hard-chrome finish. All the handles feature a 28mm diameter, while the rotating handles also feature a 38mm and 48mm handle. The bar’s sleeves are plated with hard chrome, a durable premium coating that keeps the plates sliding on and off. The bar will sit flush and secure even on wide, 49” racks.
