Want a great deal on great gym equipment? Check out Rogue’s Boneyard – this is where their “seconds” go.
Let’s take a look at Boneyard Collars for Olympic Weightlifting Barbells.
It’s inevitable – during the manufacturing process some items just aren’t cosmetically perfect – but they are still fully functional.
Barbell collars have essential purposes when training – some are for safety, and some are for performance. They keep the weight plates tight to the shoulder of the bar, so when you use the rings on your barbell to adjust your grip, the weight plates are the same distance from each other.
Here are some of the styles we are going to look at:
Boneyard Collars for Olympic Weightlifting Barbells – Overview
Without collars, the barbells produce a loud blast or can hurt or injure you or someone around you. Without collars, weights are easy to glide outward on your barbell sleeve. If one side glides out farther than another, you have a notched load. Collars also help protect plates on the barbell, so they don’t bounce. Another reason why collars are essential is that they serve as property protection.
Rogue offers collars they call Boneyard Collars. Boneyard Collars are brand new collars from Rogue but with irregular machining of the lettering and outside face. These collars may have mismatched colors or no finish but are very functional and in new and good condition.
Boneyard OSO Collars (Made in the U.S.A.)
Manufactured in Columbus, the Boneyard OSO Collars is an exclusive Rogue branded and is an innovative, aircraft-grade aluminum clamp designed. The OSO Collars produce a solid, firm hold through repeated, high-impact drops and enable simple adjustments or removal with a simple lever and lock/unlock structure.
These collars are furnished with a rubberized interior lining to preserve the bar. The collars have a unique look with its industrial gear-style shape in gunmetal gray with the Rogue logo down the side. They are designed to be used in 50MM Olympic Bar Sleeves.
Boneyard OSO Barbell Collars (Made in the U.S.A.)
The OSO Barbell Collars are built in the USA from the same kind of 6061 Billet Aircraft Grade Aluminum alloy utilized in aircraft manufacture. These collars are functional and form a solid hold on the bar through repeated, high-impact drops and enable smooth adjustments or replacement with an easy lever and lock/unlock the device.
The shape of the collars is like industrial gear with an old-school design matched with some bright color options: blue, orange, green, pink, purple, gold, red, and gunmetal. These collars are a good option if you are looking for an upgrade from basic spring collars. Each pair weighs 0.8LB and measures 1.5: in width.
Boneyard OSO CM-1 Metal Collars (Made in the U.S.A.)
From customer feedback, the OSO CM-1 Metal Collar now comes with innovative new engineering elements and advances in precision technology. This involves rubberized interior plugs for a better hold on the bar, a modernized handle, and a fresh new design created from OSO’s top-grade 6061 Billet Aluminum.
A cam-locking clamp mechanism is in place to secure the collar for constant stability and satisfaction through even the most extreme weightlifting regimen. The collar is made to fit all standard 50MM Olympic barbell sleeves and has a 6061 Billet Aircraft Grade Aluminum construction.
Boneyard OSO Mighty Collars (Made in the U.S.A.)
The OSO Mighty Collars are very lightweight and provide many advantages as the standard OSO Barbell Collar at a cost-effective price. They are designed and built in Colorado using aircraft-grade aluminum and intended to be used on 50MM Olympic Bar sleeves.
The bar is protected with a Black Rubberized interior lining with a locking clamp mechanism for a firm hold. The collars render a secure, steady grip through repeated, high-impact drops and provide simple adjustments or removal with an easy lever and lock/unlock mechanism.
Boneyard OSO Magnetic Rogue Barbell Collars (Made in the U.S.A.)
The OSO Magnetic Rogue Barbell Collars is a simple answer to an age-old collar storage dilemma and grants comfortable arm’s reach access to the OSO’s when you next need them. These magnetic collars are manufactured in the Rogue factory from aircraft-grade aluminum with a gunmetal gray anodized finish and industrial, gear-style design. The collars are available with four built-in high-strength magnets, enabling you to attach the collars straight to the rack in-between uses easily.
They are compatible with any standard 50mm Olympic barbell sleeve measuring 1.5” in width per collar. They include a lock/unlock lever for a reliable grip and a rubberized interior lining to preserve your bar. Two magnets on each face of the collar are mechanically pressed into uniquely machined pockets to guarantee their stability.
Boneyard OSO Mighty Axle Collars (Made in the U.S.A.)
The OSO Mighty Axle Collars are quality-made, efficiently priced, and mainly intended for specialty barbells that use 1.5″ pipe with a given outside diameter of 1.9″. They are lightweight and compatible with the TB-2 Trap Bar, Rogue Axle, and Log Bar and the bars of the RH-2 Rogue Reverse Hyper, Rhino Belt Squat, and Rogue Donkey.
They are made in Ohio and highlight the same aircraft-grade aluminum construction, rubberized interior lining, and locking clamp mechanism as the OSO Mighty Collars. The key variations, besides the sizing, are the rough flanges. This makes it effortless to recognize the Mighty Axle Collars as your grab-and-go option for specialty bar training.

Just remember, this is an OCCASIONAL item – at best. Get them while you can!
Barbell collars keep your weightlifting plates on your bar to ensure they don’t glide or fall off while working out, so you and your equipment are protected. The collars that Rogue offers are in good shape but with just inconsistent machining of the lettering and outside face. They may have uneven colors or no finish at all, but they are functional and in new condition.
