The GORUCK Ballistic Trainer is a great shoe for functional fitness workouts. And now it has been named the Official Shoe of the Rogue Invitational.
Whether lifting barbells and sandbags or running and rucking, get the support you need with the 3X Support™ and 3X Stability of the Ballistic Trainer from GORUCK. It is made to perform not only inside of a CrossFit box, but is also versatile and functional for training in the real world. GORUCK took each part of the shoe and examined it — built and rebuilt it over and over to guarantee support no matter what and where you’re doing it.
Here are some of the GORUCK Ballistic Trainer styles, you can get direct from Rogue:
GORUCK Ballistic Trainer – Official Shoe of the Rogue Invitational – Overview
Constructed using an engineered warp-knit technology, the forefoot of the Ballistic Trainer delivers a seamless one-piece vamp and toe cap while offering areas of reinforced strength, breathability, and flexibility. The supportive, injection molded heel counter stabilizes your heel when you’re doing dynamic, load-bearing exercises and the extra top eyelets prevents heel slippage and extreme movement around the ankle. The shoe has a wide toe box allowing your toes to breathe and lessen friction that can occur if your feet rub against the insides of your shoe.
The 8mm heel-to-toe drop in the Ballistic Trainer creates the most promising biomechanical advantage when lifting heavy loads (squat, clean, snatch) or moving more than 400 meters (running or rucking). The Ballistic Trainer uses a dense PU foam insert that is custom-made to fit the foot’s contours, supporting all three arches. The forefoot rubber is formulated for improved grip, while the heel area is solid and won’t break after miles of running or rucking.
The midfoot is formulated from a rock climbing compound and hardened for superior abrasion resistance — perfect for rope climbs. The high rebound, high flexibility EVA in the forefoot provides cushion and support for explosive movement, while the firm, stable EVA in the heel provides a stable platform to keep you grounded when lifting or squatting.
