The GORUCK Ballistic Trainer is an innovative shoe with engineered warp-knit &andCORDURA® ballistic nylon upper. This innovation provides a seamless one-piece vamp and toe cap while giving bolstered strength, breathability, and flexibility to other areas. The lace area, midfoot, and heel is constructed from two panels of 1680D CORDURA® Ballistic Nylon and offer the finest Special Forces grade abrasion resistance against the strains of rope climbs. This 1680D CORDURA® also grants excellent midfoot and heel support during dynamic exercises. A supportive, injection-molded heel counter is provided to anchor your foot and support your heel when you’re doing active, load-bearing exercises. There are also extra top eyelets that can perform a tight heel lock and avoid heel slippage and unnecessary movement around the ankle.
Your toes can freely breathe in this shoe because it has a generous forefoot that decreases the friction that can occur if your feet brush against the insides of your shoe. The dense PU foam insert is custom made to match the shapes of the foot supporting all three arches of the foot — the medial longitudinal arch, the lateral longitudinal arch, and the anterior transverse arch. And if you prefer less arch support and want to feel closer to the ground, a thinner insert is also included. This shoe has an 8mm heel-to-toe drop that produces the best biomechanical position when lifting heavy loads (squat, clean, snatch) or moving more than 400 meters.
From the forefoot to the heel, two distinct kinds of EVA blended in a smooth gradient. The high rebound, high flexibility EVA in the forefoot renders cushion and support for explosive movement. At the same time, the firm, stable EVA in the heel produces a firm platform to keep you grounded when lifting or squatting. There are also three various rubber compounds that form a single, seamless rubber outsole. The forefoot rubber is developed for enhanced grip while the heel area is thick and won’t wear out after miles of running or rucking. The midfoot is developed from a rock climbing compound and hardened for outstanding abrasion resistance — perfect for rope climbs.
