Let’s get into the details
The ordering process
The first step in using Nike By You is picking your colors. This is done on the Nike web site.
There are a number of things you can choose, and these vary by the exact shoe you are ordering.
For the Nike Free Metcon 6 you can change the:
- Upper
- Collar
- Flywire / Toe Swoosh
- Laces
- Midsole
- Midsole Accent (we chose “Cheetah” but there is also Solid, Metalic, and Stripes)
- Midsole Swoosh
- Outsole
- Personalization (we didn’t do this. You are limited to two characters on this shoe. That’s pretty short.)
The web page will show you a computer rendering of what the shoe will look like. Sort of.

As you can see from the examples above, it is representative of what you will receive, but not photo-realistic.

These shoes cost $30 more than the regular ones. And it took about 3 weeks for them to arrive.
But, I think that’s pretty good!
As you can see, the finished product looks great.

The build quality is indistinguishable from the regular pairs that I have.

All things considered, the wife is happy with these shoes, and we’d do it again.
