The newest Nano X2 is here – the special edition Nano X2 Froning Training Shoes – available now from Reebok.

Known as the “Official Shoe of You,” the Nano X2 is an all-around premium shoe great for CrossFit and any other workout. It comes in different iterations and styles to accommodate different athletes and sports enthusiasts with varying training needs. Now it comes with its latest version—super lightweight, high in performance, and competition ready.

These shoes have been stripped down like a high-performance race car to produce the lightest possible game-day shoes. They are available in two vivid colorways: Core Black/Pure Grey/Neon Cherry and Ftwr White/Neon Blue/Neon Cherry.

Nano X2 Froning Training Shoes – Overview

Reebok and Rich Froning Jr. unveiled another collaboration in the form of Nano X2 Froning Training Shoes. The shoes are the most recent and the lightest iteration of the award-winning Nano X2 training shoe franchise highlighting design inspiration from the fitness legend. The Nano X2 Froning is designed to be a lightweight, highly functional game-day-ready shoe.

Reebok removed unnecessary details to make the airy weight possible and give the Nano X2 Froning a stripped-down design. The new iteration pays tribute to the Froning family’s history and love for the automotive industry as it also radiates power and dominance. The shoes weigh only 10.4oz in a unisex size 9 with a 7mm drop and are created for the competition floor while remaining versatile enough to support you in all your training demands.

The shoes now have a reinforced, breathable open-mesh upper with perforated details making the shoes ultra-lightweight and competition ready. The Floatride Energy foam is still there and provides lightweight, responsive cushioning, while the ROPEPRO+ outsole midfoot teeth add traction and bite for rope climbing.

Nano X2 Review

We haven’t gotten our hands (feet?) on this new edition yet – but we did review the Reebok Nano X2 – regular edition.

Reebok gives us a solid option in between a running shoe and the almost-too-hardcore Nike M7 and M8. These are pretty darn good!

Here’s the Reebok Nano X2. What’s great about this? This evolved cross trainer has some drop (7mm) and some cushion – but not too much. It’s better for standing, walking, and running as compared to the very low-drop and stiff Metcon series.

A side view of the Reebok Nano X2. I think this is the most versatile of the current crop of cross training shoes. It’s definitely the MOST COMFORTABLE for all-day standing and walking too – after all do you wear these only to the gym or CrossFit box?

We’re getting good grip from the flat, all-rubber outsole.

That’s an X1 on the right. The glued-on “NANO X.1” fell off. The letters on the X2 aren’t coming off.

Overall the Nano X2 has evolved from the X1 – they fixed a few things – and they kept what makes this shoe special (the drop and the Floatride cushion.)
