Nike Metcon 7 Review
We’ve reviewed the Nike Metcon 7.
We’ve also reviewed the Nike Metcon 7 AMP.
What’s the big difference between the two? The AMP is a style upgrade – functionally it is equivalent to the regular edition shoe. But, it does look good.
It’s a great shoe for CrossFit. If you don’t like the style – or if you want more drop – check out the Reebok Nano X2 – it’s got more drop and more cushion. Still good for lifting weights though.
Nike Metcon 7 – Overview
The latest Metcon is rocking the plyometrics, agility, and HIIT training with its more athletic look and performance. It is titled the new gold standard in weight training and now has the React foam for maximum comfort and lock-down lace tabs that stop untying during high-intensity training. It is tougher than earlier versions and provides durability and breathability.
The shoe’s heel is wide, flat, and flexible and includes an inner plate that disperses weight from edge to edge for improved stability. Nike worked hard on the shoe’s forefoot and gave it four deep flex grooves, including one that divides the whole outsole. At the same time, the updated rubber wraps along the arch to deliver superior traction on rope climbs.
It has an enhanced forefoot feel from prior Metcon models and makes it easier for you to do any exercise. The Metcon 7 has a lightweight mesh and strategically textured overlays that keep your feet cool without losing their durability. The rubber tread on the outsole and up the side of the shoe delivers directional traction from the training room floor to the pavement, while the Flywire cables merge with the laces to fasten the midfoot.
Nike Metcon 7 – In Summary
