Athena Side-Mount Functional Trainer – Overview
Low-profile yet powerful and versatile, the Athena Side-Mount Functional Trainer integrates into the side of your PR-4000 or PR-5000 series power rack. With it, you can get isolation work without needing space for a stand-alone unit. It also provides a lower price point (and smaller footprint) than the Ares Attachment, which includes a lat pulldown and low row. The Athena highlights a 2:1 pulley ratio, which means 20lbs feels like 10lbs.
You can do cable works at any height on the upright with its patent-pending trolley that includes a safety pin for added protection while in use. The Athena’s cables are made from high-quality, galvanized wire with a raw steel core. The pulleys are made from rugged aluminum, and the front pulleys have a 180-degree swivel for versatility when working outside the rack.
Athena Selectorized Side-Mount Functional Trainer
The Athena Selectorized Side-Mount Functional Trainer weighs 258 lbs per unit with a weight stack of 170 lbs. It has a minimum usable weight of 10 lbs and a cable weight capacity of 550 lbs per side. The 170lb weight stacks are made from hot-rolled steel and operate at a 2:1 ratio (20lbs feels like 10lbs), ideal for functional training.
It provides an option to upgrade each stack to 220lbs (feels like 110lbs). It highlights hot-rolled steel plates with a 3% tolerance and a magnetic pin for swift and easy weight modifications. You can add bands to the integrated band pegs on the base and head plate for added resistance up to a max of 540lbs.
Athena Plate-Loaded Side-Mount Functional Trainer
The Athena Plate-Loaded Side-Mount Functional Trainer weighs 87 lbs per unit with a minimum usable weight of 71 lbs and a maximum weight capacity of 540 lbs that feels like 270 lbs. This functional trainer has a cable weight capacity of 540 lbs. It allows you to personalize your rack’s functionality by selecting either left, right or dual-sided.
The Loaded Side-Mount can be upgraded to selectorized when you get the conversion kit which will be available soon. The kit will include all the vital parts to turn your 4000 or 5000 series Side-Mount Functional Trainer attachment into the selectorized attachment.
