It’s the year 2022. Let’s be smarter about how we train. That’s not just form – our equipment needs to evolve beyond what we used in the 50s and 60s.
Along those lines – here’s the Mutt Bars, Wheels, Cowbells, and More from Rogue.
Free weights are highly versatile, and you can do a wide variety of workouts with, for example, a set of dumbbells. They are also affordable, compact, and take up little space.

Mutt Bars, Wheels, Cowbells, and More – Overview
Free weights are inexpensive compared to weight machines and don’t require a gym membership. Free weights allow a wide range of sports performance and have a lower injury risk during your workout. They are great for building strength and wellness and increasing muscle size, strength, and endurance. Utilizing free weights is a great way to build functional strength through imitating sports and real-life movements that use a variety of exercises through a broad range of motion.
Free weights can also aid in muscle imbalances because they continuously challenge your balance and push you to work and strengthen your stabilizing muscles. Free weights are the most versatile workout device, and you can do hundreds of exercises to strengthen every muscle in your body. All you need are the weights and a little space. Here are some free weights from Rogue that you can mix into your daily routine for a more powerful workout.
MUTT Cowbells
The MUTT Cowbells have the combining elements of a kettlebell and a traditional cast iron plate. Each single-piece cast-iron Mutt Cowbell contains a bored hole in its center, allowing it to be loaded tightly on any standard Olympic barbell. The bottom-heavy weight dispersal of the triangular plates forms a slight swaying movement as the bar moves through an exercise, equivalently activating your stabilizing muscle groups to training with chains or resistance bands.
Mutt Cowbells also help train better form by pushing you to keep a correct barbell path throughout a movement. The integrated handle of the Mutt Cowbell gives it added dual functionality of the bar and can be used for kettlebell workouts such as swings, farmer’s carries, and shrugs. The MUTT Cowbells offer maximum space efficiency as they have interlocking tabs design that can also be stored securely.
Mutt Wheels
The Mutt Wheels deliver versatility in such a way that they function as a traditional cast-iron plate and even off the bar with their six multi-grip “spokes” in the open design. The plate’s single-piece cast-iron structure and skim-cut center hub make it safely compatible with other traditional plates on an Olympic barbell and also enable secure stacking/storage when not in use.
They are sold in pairs and available in three weight variants of 25LB (1.5″), 35LB (1.675″), and 45LB (1.75″). Each plate hub includes Mutt branding and debossed weight indications.
MUTT Dumbbells
The MUTT Dumbbells are cast-iron dumbbells that highlight an exceptional, ergonomic handle designed for comfort and strength in both the open and closed grip positions. Unlike standard straight dumbbell handle, this grooved and angled grip can also help athletes encountering median or ulnar nerve compression.
MUTT Dumbbells are sold in pairs and available in weight increments of 10LB, 20LB, 30LB, 40LB, and 50LB. Each head has a uniquely created flat edge to help assist with grip positioning and stop rollaway.
MUTT Bars
The Mutt Bar is a new hybrid breed of exercise bar, bringing together components of the standard Olympic barbell, curl bar, Swiss bar, dumbbells, and more into a single cast iron unit. The all-in-one, multi-handle molds of these bars offer you the option of a pronated, supinated, neutral, or wide grip — each ergonomically designed for optimal comfort through a wide range of high-rep routines.
Mutt Bars don’t require plates, collars, and accessories, making them easy to use, store, and transport. They are made in five unique weight increments of 22LB, 33LB, 44LB, 55LB, 66LB and can be ordered individually or as part of a complete five-bar set with a custom bolt-together Mutt storage rack.
