Nike Metcon 7 CrossFit Shoe – Our Review
To test this product, we got hands-on and in-depth (With a different color option – but still the same shoe.)
Here’s what we found:
Nike gets rid of the super breathable upper from Metcon 6 and now uses React foam. Even with the React foam, it is now firmer in the heel and forefoot than the older versions. It is minimally cushioned with a very stable heel making it perfect for heavy lifting. The “Rope Wrap” at the midfoot is still a big part of the shoe and allows you to get an excellent grip while climbing ropes and protects the shoe from getting torn up at the same time. The outsole is still the same—all rubber, very grippy, and provides you max contact area on the gym floor. The shoe offers 4mm of heel-to-toe drop – and if you want more heel raise than that, the Metcon 6 is the way to go.

Nike Metcon 7 Fitter Together Edition – Overview
Stable and sturdy, the Metcon 7 is the gold standard for weight training. With its wide, flat heel, the shoe is more stable than previous iterations with its inner plate that distributes weight from side to side. To add to that, it even flexes to make cardio intervals more comfortable and bearable.
New to Metcon 7 is the React foam that makes a comfortable, cushioned base that feels lightweight and springy at an intense pace during cardio and sprints. The tab locks down the laces with a hook-and-loop closure to keep them out of the way so you can focus on your training alone.
The remodeled rubber wraps up your arch for a powerful grip during rope climbs, and the rubber tread gives you traction from the training room floor to the pavement. The handstand clip at the heel minimizes drag during wall exercises, while the Flywire cables integrate with the laces to secure your midfoot. The grooves in the sole let your forefoot bend naturally.
Nike Metcon 7 Fitter Together Edition – In Summary
That’s our close-up look at Nike Metcon 7 Fitter Together Edition.
Though tougher, breathability stays vital with Metcon 7 as its lightweight mesh and strategically textured overlays keep your feet cool without sacrificing durability. It symbolizes a new gold standard in weight training with React foam for optimal comfort and lock-down lace tabs to stop untying during high-intensity training.
