The Metcon 8 is the latest iteration in the Metcon family, and the MF design gets all the remarkable features of this shoe. This version is lighter and more breathable than the previous version and cushions your workouts with responsive, durable foam. This is the Nike React technology—making a comfortable, cushioned base that feels springy when you kick into high gear for cardio and sprints. The Nike Metcon 8 MF honors the important moments and events along Mat’s progress journey with a letterman jacket patch look that suits his old-school work ethic.
The distinct design details of this shoe draw inspiration from the best to ever do it in the world of competitive fitness—from the successive 2nd place finishes that electrified his competitive flame early on to the coffee that helped bring his workouts to life. As part of Metcon 8, this version also has grippy rubber that wraps around your arch during intense rope climbs and a rubber tread that gives you traction and helps you stay on your feet when moving from the training room floor to the ground.
The wide, flat heel gets even more stable with an inner plate that distributes weight from side to side while also flexing to make it comfortable for cardio and runs. Being a limited edition – we weren’t able to test this one (yet).
But we did test the regular M8 shoe. And we’re sure this one will perform the same (they always do! The Mat Fraser special editions are really just a style upgrade.)
