Nike Metcon 8 Pre-Order – Overview
The new Metcon 8 is locked and packed with the newest technology and is a must-have cross-trainer for the gym and even outside of the gym. New to Metcon 8 is the updated upper, making it the most durable and breathable rendition yet. This new upper and the current tooling provide an edge over the Metcon 7.
You can pre-order now, and it will ship on September 1st.
If the M7 is any indication, this shoe performs like a winner and is perfect for all the most strenuous workouts out there, including weightlifting, cross-training, HIIT, Bootcamp, and running. It also highlights the same lace lock security as the 7 but is now incorporated with the latest Nike branding to flatter a new puff print swish.
Check out all the details of our Nike Metcon 7 Review – we expect the 8 to perform the same.
We also checked out the AMP version of the Nike Metcon 7 – which performs the same, but looks fancier.
The puff print swoosh and haptic print enable you to voice your personal style with these unique qualities. Metcon 8 is created to intensify your efficiency so you can relish both the physical and mental benefits of training.
There’s Women’s styles too. The sizing on Women’s shoes is different than Men’s.
Expect lots of carry-over from the men’s model – of course. Nike RARELY changes the actual performance characteristics from Men’s to Women’s – although it is not unheard of.
Nike Metcon 8 Review – Overview
If you are looking for a total reconstruction from the earlier version, that’s not really the case with this shoe. Metcon 8 possesses the same stability and durability as Metcon 7. Regarding the outsole construction, both shoes have the same full rubber tread with the flex grooves in the forefoot, midfoot outsole wraps, and cut in the heel where the Hyperlift is.
The React foam is still present for optimal comfort and cushioning, as well as the grooves in the sole to let your forefoot bend naturally. They also have the same insoles, heel-to-toe drop, weight, and sizing. However, a significant change happened in the upper. Metcon 8 now uses synthetic overlays that spread from the forefoot back to the onset of the heel.
These overlays are smoother than the chainlink mesh of Metcon 7. The upper doesn’t stretch that much and is more durable. The lace and the tongue of both shoes are also different. Metcon 8 has a traditional lacing system with five core eyelets (Metcon 7 only has three). The tongue on Metcon 8 also only features the lace lock mechanism at the top, unlike Metcon 7, which is at the bottom.
